So in science at TCA (I go on Thursdays to classes. If you want me to explain how I go to school and be home schooled at the same time just drop in a comment and ask) we started Biology and my teacher Mr.B (best science teacher there ever was) brought up a very good point. What is a good definition life? Now I know what you are thinking life is life but is that the best you can do if life is life they is a rock alive? Sooo in other words what characteristics do living thing have that non-living things don't. So I realized it might be a good idea if we all had a general idea of what life is and no I do not think you are stupid I just want to make sure we all are on the same page. Ok so my class and I came up with a list of characteristics that includes but is not limited to:
1) ReSpErAtIoN. It can breath (in a manner for speaking)
2)Reproduce. Awww...puppies...enough said
Umm...hold on let me go get my notes...Oh yea...
3)It grows...
4)Reacts to enviorment
5)Ok here is a new word...Homeostasis I am not exactly sure what it means and the dictionary definition is not very clear but when I said that living things need food and water he said lets call that homeostasis. It basically means a life source I guess. I will ask Mr.B and get back to you
6) Probably the most obvious but feared by some is Death...(ghost noises)....all living things must die at some point.
So that is the list if you come up with anything else leave a comment and let me know.
Examining the world without all that nonsense we call Evolution.

Hello
Ok so the reasons I have started this blog are 1) as an elective for school so my mom has much influence over what goes on this blog and 2) because I love nature and I am intrigued by its beauty and perfection. I will be doing a mix of plants, animals, and habitats. Hopefully I will either scan in some pictures I draw, use real pictures or (if and when I get a drawing tablet) draw straight in to the computer. So check back soon for my first section.
